Science teams of the Tokyo node

Participants will belong to one of the local scientific teams in the Tokyo node, and collaborate with the global scientific teams.

    Climatology

    Tropical cyclones

Intraseasonal variabilities & equatorial waves, or convective organization

and convective features including atmospheric rivers and mesoscale convective systems

    Extreme precipitation or winds

    Mid-latitude disturbances

    Land-atmosphere interactions

Variability in mountainous regions and complex terrain

Upscale phenomena: Impacts of small-scale features (e.g., convection) on waves and the large-scale circulation (jets, monsoons, ITCZ, blocking, etc.)

    Data handling, visualization

The MSJ spring meeting

The MSJ Spring Meeting will be held from May 14 to 17, with online sessions on May 1415 and an on-site meeting on May 16.

We will provide a designated room for online participation from AORI for those attending the online sessions on May 1415.

Attendance on May 16 is optional, and we do not expect all participants to be present that day.

The meso-scale research conference, or the Meso Kenkyukai

The meso kenkyukai is held on May 13, 2025, 13:30-18:00, at the Auditorium of AORI.

The members of the Global km-scale Hackathon can participant in the conference.
